Taiko Drum Workshop – Feel the Beat of Japan Experience the power and rhythm of traditional Japanese drumming in the heart of Kyoto. In this hands-on Taiko Drum Workshop, you’ll learn more than just how to hit a drum — you’ll discover how to use your body, mind, and spirit in perfect harmony. The session begins with an introduction to the history of taiko — once used in rituals, festivals, and even on battlefields — followed by a live demonstration by our experienced instructor(Please note that depending on the number of instructors available on the day, we may not be able to provide the taiko live performance). You’ll be taught the correct stance, how to hold the sticks (bachi), and how to strike the drum with full-body energy and focus. Even if you’ve never touched a drum before, don’t worry. Our workshop is designed for beginners and travelers of all ages. Through step-by-step guidance and fun rhythm exercises, you’ll quickly find yourself immersed in the beat. By the end, you’ll perform a simple piece together with the group — an energetic and satisfying finale!
